MEDIA RELEASE: 23 October, 2014

Organisers of Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park are promising an exciting new look and feel for this year’s outdoor musical extravaganza, now celebrating its 21st year.

The spectacular Ria Hall, multi-talented Barry Southgate, award winning country singer Tami Neilson, the versatile Lavina Williams and TITANIUM’s Andrew Papas are just some of the star-studded line-up confirmed for this year’s event.

They’ll be sharing the stage with backing vocalists Anna Grahame, Paul Fagamalo and Yuli Quay, who’ll be supporting a talented cast of singers, dancers and performers.

“This year’s show is shaping up to be one of the most spectacular ever performed at Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park,” says show producer Jade Turrall. “We’ve searched New Zealand and gathered some of the countrys hottest singers, dance groups and musicians, who together will present a magical, new-look show of international quality.”

The popular, free musical events will be co-hosted by MORE FM’s Simon Barnett and Gary McCormick at Christchurch’s Hagley Park on Saturday 29th November and by TV3 personality John Campbell at the Auckland Domain on Saturday 13th December 2014.

Coca-Cola is delighted to be celebrating the 21st Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park,” says Paul Fitzgerald, general manager of Coca-Cola Oceania. “Since 1994 it’s been our special gift to New Zealand. We’ve all enjoyed many happy nights with friends and families at this fabulous free outdoor event.  It’s a perfect way to bring people together to enjoy what’s often described as the happiest night of the year.”
This year Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park is supporting Youthline in their work to create communities in which young people develop and thrive.
Highlights from the concert can be seen in the special 90 minute broadcast on TV3.

The Move60 program is at the heart of this commitment by encouraging thousands of New Zealand teens to get active with bikes and a free app to motivate them to get moving.
