The world has a packaging problem and as the world’s biggest beverage company we recognise we have a responsibility to help solve it. We don’t want beverage containers in our oceans or landfill, we want them to be collected and recycled so they can have another life.

In New Zealand, all of our plastic bottles under 1 litre and all of our water bottles in all sizes are made from 100% recycled plastic. Our caps and labels are not currently made from recycled content but we are exploring technical options to help us address this. We also invested in the first Coca-Cola campaign in NZ that doesn’t feature any product call outs but instead focuses on getting people to recycle.

To help NZ move towards a circular economy in plastic, we welcomed the Ministry for the Environment’s announcement that a container return scheme is in development.
